SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia plans to commence direct flights from Sharjah International Airport to Amman City Airport starting on November 15, 2026. Operating four times weekly, this route enhances the direct links between the UAE and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia connects Sharjah with Queen Alia International Airport, offering travelers two options for reaching Amman. The new schedule will see flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Air Arabia launches Sharjah flights to Amman City Airport
Sharjah gains another direct Amman connection as Air Arabia expands its Jordan network.

Flight G9 169 departs Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, departs Amman at 11:20 a.m. and touches down in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Reservations are available via Air Arabia’s website, call center, and travel agency partners. The airline announced this new route on October 8, more than a month ahead of the first scheduled flight.

This initiative expands Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan network, which already includes services from Abu Dhabi and Alexandria. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi operates flights from Zayed International Airport to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, the group offers direct flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah route provides an additional departure point for travelers heading to Jordan’s capital.

Sharjah gains second Amman gateway in Air Arabia’s network

Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that the new service offers travelers an alternative airport option in Amman. He emphasized that this added connectivity will increase convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between Jordan and the UAE. The airline will continue its existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, making Amman City Airport a second Jordanian gateway within Air Arabia’s Sharjah network.

Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched flights to Amman City Airport, starting on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. Before introducing the second Amman airport, the Abu Dhabi operation already served Queen Alia International Airport. When the new service launched, the carrier’s schedule from Abu Dhabi offered 10 weekly flights to Amman, which will now expand to include Sharjah as well.

Four weekly flights strengthen UAE-Jordan travel links

The scheduled flights from Sharjah will operate under the G9 169 and G9 170 flight numbers. Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline also offers SkyTime in-flight entertainment, SkyCafe onboard meal service, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Passengers can reserve seats on the new Amman City Airport route through the airline’s usual sales channels ahead of the November launch.

This expansion in November enhances Air Arabia Group’s network connecting the UAE and Jordan through multiple hubs. Sharjah passengers will now have direct access to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Existing services from Abu Dhabi to both airports continue, and Alexandria also maintains a direct route to Amman City Airport. The new route introduces four additional weekly flights from Sharjah, broadening the group’s Jordan schedule.
